Terms of service and sale
The terms that apply when you use this site or buy the Builder Plan.
Who you're dealing with
AI in Action is run by Rent A Nerd LLC, doing business as AI in Action, a company based in Georgia, USA. When these terms say “I” or “me”, they mean that company. By using this site or buying the course, you agree to these terms.
What you are buying
The Builder Plan is a yearly subscription to the AI in Action course. The price is $450 USD per year, plus any sales tax shown at checkout, charged by Stripe through Systeme.io.
The course teaches you how to build software with Cursor and AI models. The practice project is a set of trading bots, because they give the code real data to work against and an obvious way to tell whether it runs.
Education only, not financial advice
Everything in the course, on this site and in my emails is education about writing software. None of it is financial, investment, tax or trading advice. I don't recommend any instrument, strategy, trade or account, I don't run a signal service, and I'm not a registered investment adviser, commodity trading advisor or broker.
Nothing here promises a profit or any trading result.
Where the course is offered
The course is offered to residents of the United States. TopStep is a US company, and I can't promise its accounts or API will be available or work for visitors in the EU, the UK or anywhere else. If you're outside the US, the lessons on coding with AI still apply, but you may not be able to run the bots on a TopStep account. Check TopStep's availability before you buy anything.
Practice account only
The TopStep subscription includes both a Combine evaluation account and a Practice account, which trades simulated funds. Every lesson is designed to be done on the Practice account, and that is the only account I recommend using with the course, especially while you're learning. The course never uses, asks for, or supports a personal brokerage account, and no lesson requires you to put real money at risk.
The strategy code is for learning only
The trading strategies in the lessons and the template repo exist to teach you how to code with AI. They are not trading strategies for you to use, they are not profitable as they stand, and they are not offered as trading advice or as a system for real accounts.
Don't use the strategy code, in its original or a changed form, for anything other than learning to code with AI. Don't run it on any real-money account, funded account or brokerage account. If you do anyway, you're doing it outside the course, against these terms, and entirely at your own risk.
Access
After a successful payment, the course opens on the email address you enter at checkout. That login is yours. Don't share it, and don't resell or republish the lessons, prompts, or template repo.
Your licence
While your plan is active, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to watch the lessons and use the prompts and template repo for your own learning and your own projects. You can change the code however you like for your own use.
You can't share your login, resell or republish the lessons or materials, or package the template repo as a product or course of your own. I keep all rights in the course content.
Renewal and cancellation
The plan bills annually and renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time before the renewal date and you won't be charged again.
Renewal is at the price in effect at the time. Cancel from your receipt or by emailing Ben@myrentanerd.com. Lessons you have already paid for stay available after you cancel; new courses released after your plan ends are not included.
Refunds
Fourteen-day refund, no questions asked. Email me inside two weeks and I'll refund it in full; course access ends with the refund. The tool subscriptions are billed by TopStep, Cursor and ProjectX, so those you cancel with them.
If the course does not open
If the charge succeeds and the course does not open, email Ben@myrentanerd.com and you will get access or a refund of that charge.
Keep your credentials to yourself
I will never ask for your API keys, passwords, or account logins for TopStep, ProjectX, Cursor, GitHub or anything else, and you should never send them to me or post them in any course community, comment or support email. If you do share one by mistake, revoke it with the provider straight away. I'll delete anything like that I come across.
Community and conduct
If you join a course community, be decent: no harassment, no spam, no selling, no posting other people's work or private information, and no presenting trades or results as advice to other students. I can remove posts, or remove someone from the community or the course, for breaking these rules. If I remove you from the course for misconduct, you won't get a refund for the rest of that plan year.
Third-party tools
TopStep, ProjectX, Cursor and GitHub are separate companies with their own terms and prices. You sign up with them directly, they bill you directly, and their subscriptions are not part of this purchase or its refund.
Those companies change their products, prices, APIs and rules without asking me. I can't promise the template code will keep working with them, though I'll update lessons where I reasonably can.
Changes to the course
I may update, reorder, replace or retire lessons to keep them accurate as the tools change. If I ever make a change that takes away most of what you paid for in the current plan year, email me and I'll refund the unused part of that year.
Software as is
The course, the template repo and any code from the lessons are provided as is and as available, for learning, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Code can have bugs and data feeds can fail. You are responsible for any account you connect the code to and for every order it places.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the course, the site or the code, even if I was told they were possible.
To the extent the law allows, my total liability for any claim about the course or the site is capped at the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against me because of how you used the course or the code, including trades you placed or accounts you connected, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim.
Who can buy
You confirm that you are at least 18, that you live in the United States, and that the name and email you enter are yours.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and I both agree to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email me first; most problems are fixed faster that way.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from your next renewal, or straight away for anyone who buys after the change. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
