Who I am

AI in Action is run by Rent A Nerd LLC, doing business as AI in Action, based in Georgia, USA. That company decides what personal data is collected here and is responsible for it.

What I collect

Your email address, when you ask for the free guide. It's stored in Systeme.io, the platform that runs the course and the email list.

Your name, email and order details, when you buy. Payment card details go to Stripe and never reach me.

Your course progress, which Systeme.io records so the course remembers where you left off.

The emails you send me, when you ask a question.

Basic usage data from analytics: pages viewed, rough location from your IP address, device and browser type. See the Cookie policy for details.

What I never collect

I don't want, and will never ask for, your API keys, passwords, brokerage details, or the logins for your TopStep, ProjectX, Cursor or GitHub accounts. The course doesn't use a personal brokerage account at all. If you send me a credential by mistake, I'll delete it, and you should revoke it with the provider.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the page people read. Google Analytics sets cookies; Vercel Analytics does not. Neither is used for advertising.

The site also stores one small flag in your browser so the free guide stays unlocked after you sign up. The Cookie policy at /cookies lists everything this site stores in your browser and how to turn it off.

What I do with it, and why

Send you the guide and, occasionally, emails about building with AI and about the course. I do this because you asked for it (your consent). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Give you course access, send receipts and renewal notices, and answer your questions. I need to do this to deliver what you bought (performing our contract).

Understand how the site is used so I can improve it, and keep basic records for tax and accounting. These are my legitimate interests and legal obligations.

I don't sell or rent your information to anyone, and I don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Who else processes it

Systeme.io (email list, course hosting, checkout), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosts this site) and Google (analytics). Each handles your data under its own privacy policy.

These providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, they rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

Email list data: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Customer and order records: for as long as you're a customer, then as long as tax and accounting rules require (usually up to seven years). Support emails: as long as they're useful for answering you, then deleted. Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete what I hold about you, or object to or restrict how I use it. Email Ben@myrentanerd.com and I'll do it, normally within 30 days. Deleting your contact also ends course access, so cancel or download anything you want first.

If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. If you're in a US state with a privacy law (such as California), you have the rights that law gives you, and I won't treat you differently for using them.

You can withdraw consent to marketing email at any time with the unsubscribe link.

Children

The course and this site are for adults 18 and over. I don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has signed up, email me and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, the date at the top changes too. If the change is significant, I'll email customers about it.
